We made autocollages about our senior citizens today using a programme called Microsoft Autocollage. Here is mine.
We enjoyed today because our senior citizens came to visit us at school to see how were were working in our blogs. You can read about my senior citizen, Susan at the bottom of this page.

Welcome to Lwanfan’s blog. In this blog you will find lots of interesting information on my different pages. This page will be devoted to my class’s exciting Senior Citizen’s project which we started earlier this year. Please continue reading to the bottom of this page. I hope you enjoy my blog.
Lwanfan interviewed Susan. This is what I found out about my Senior Citizen. When you have read about my project, please fill in the comment box and tell me about a senior citizen or grandparent that you know. Thanks
Susan as a small child
Hi my name is Susan , I had five brothers and sisters and I lived Rawsonville. My mother was a domestic worker and my father worked for the council . People around us had lots of different kinds jobs when I was young! In our spare time we made some dolls to play with so we had lots of fun together.
Susan’s Primary School Days
In Primary School we used slates instead of books and the school I went to was called Rawsonville Primary! In those days not many people had cars so I had to walk to school and at school we did a lot of history. When we got to write in the books we wrote in only pencil .We did not have computers. I remember that when children got out of hand the teacher used a cane to smack them on their bottoms! We all had to do homework. I also loved to play netball on the playground. It was great fun!
Susan as a teenager
When I was a teenager I mostly wore dresses when I wasn’t at school. I didn’t have a cell phone, and my school didn’t have any extra murals. In my spare time I liked to help my mom at home! At home my family loved playing dominoes and so did I in the evenings. We did not have computers like I told you so we used a lot of hand-written letters to send to our friends. When I was 19 I was lucky to go on my first date. People went on dates to lots of different places. We loved eating chicken in my family. I met my husband in Muizenberg.
How has South Africa changed since Susan was a child?
Lots of things have chaged. South Africa was very racial at one time.
Does Susan have any interesting information about her own grandparents?
I didn’t see them much so I didn’t really get to know them.
What advice can your senior citizen give to help us in our lives?
Listen to your parents!
